Steelers lose to Raiders as kicker Chris Boswell falls on potential game-tying kick
The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday afternoon in a bizarre finish at the Oakland Coliseum.
After falling in a 24-21 hole with just 21 seconds to play as Raiders QB Derek Carr connected with Derek Carrier on fourth down for the go-ahead score, the Steelers pulled off an incredible play of their own — with JuJu Smith-Schuster taking a lateral 43 yards to the Raiders' 22-yard line — to set up a potential game-tying field goal.
The kick could not have gone worse for the Steelers. In fact, a "kick" never really happened at all.
Kicker Chris Boswell's plant foot completely came out from under him, and he fell to the ground while getting the ball barely off the ground.
